Re: VIP mistresses - a dangerous game.
I have read the book of Mr. Kong Bun Chhuen about her story. He wrote that she didn't know he was a high rank officer, but she saw him on TV. I don't know if what all he wrote was true or not, but it was very interesting story.

. Seriously, I find the whole phenomenon quite fascinating and have talked to several "hi-so" Khmer wives who know about their husband's mistresses and are fine with the idea.
Reversing the situation, how many Khmer men have you talked to that know their wives have a boyfriend and go along with the situation. It's probable quite common in the motodop/tuk-tuk situation where the wife works in a bar.
Just asking for a friend of mine.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Wherever you find hookers, you'll find men willing to leach off them - it's not like this is a unique situation to Cambodia. In the West those guys would be pimps and earn their money; in Asia - it's an expectation. I know an awful lot of hookers who won't fuck locals because of that - they figure that if they earn, it's their cash. I can't really disagree with that either.Duncan wrote:TheGrinchSR wrote:I don't know about what it's called in Cambodia but in China it's the shiao/xiao san or er nai (both of which roughly translate as "second wife"), in Thailand the mia noi ("little wife").
