It's an SUV.
Ok. My bad
I did notice that though, and there don't seem to be any National Police (just Gendarmerie) around so I presume it was being driven by one of the drug dealers.
This is one of the big problems in Cambodia as we have so many vehicles with fake police number plate. BTW, there was a police officer in the car with police number plate was going in the wrong direction of the road, people gave him strange look and didn't move for him, guess what he was mad with everyone on the road. the picture looks quite funny, but i don't think i could find it anyway. It was posted on facebook a few days ago.

Everything that you wanted/didn't want to know about the vehicle in question:
An Audi SUV with police license plates seized at the scene of a fatal shootout between military police and suspected drug dealers in Phnom Penh on Wednesday had been sold to the wife of a suspect by a high-ranking Interior Ministry official, ministry spokesman Khieu Sopheak said on Friday.

Major General Ros Ossa, a deputy secretary-general at the ministry’s political affairs secretariat, sold the Audi to the wife of Lim Kimteng, 36—who was killed in the firefight—about four months ago, General Sopheak said.

“He sold his car with his number plate to the wife of the suspect,” he said.

“We found the paperwork from the sale, so he’s not the owner of the car, and he wasn’t involved in the case,” he added...

Well, it looks like there will be no evidence of drugs to link anyone to a crime.

As military police yesterday held a funeral for an officer killed in a shootout with an alleged drug trafficker, the identity of the latter – shot dead by police – remained undisclosed amid rumours that at least one of the suspects may have been an Interior Ministry official.

One suspect was killed and five arrested during the raid on a Tuol Kork property on Wednesday, during which Tien Karona, an officer from the gendarmerie’s Phnom Penh unit, was fatally wounded.

Officers seized five pistols and an AK-47 rifle and also confiscated two cars, including an Audi that bore the licence plates and a logo of the National Police. Yesterday, rumours circulated in local media that someone within the group may have been an Interior Ministry employee.

Commune and district police officials yesterday would not identify the dead alleged dealer, who destroyed his identification documents and flushed most of the drugs down the toilet as police closed in, according to a military police

Yup, it went from "well done to the Cambodian popo" to "hahaha, yeah, I should have expected that".

As always somewhere the investigation fails.

I guess Major General Ros Ossa over-reached and stepped on some bigger toes leading to his little side operation being shut down.

Pardon my ignorance as I was out of Country when this happened, but going by the latest pics on KoonKhmer, looks like this bust was atleast half a tonne of straight Meth. Makes sense, you don't need to run a fried duck shop to sell baggies of pills, comes in real handy when you want to pass on 2KG bags of ice in empty carcasses though! And what about all the stuff supposedly flushed down? Huge op and an hour long gunfight and yet the crims get 4-5 years, although it seems only the dead guy was shooting.
Real hush on the news wires whereas the 'fab five (four?) foreigners' have every minute detail published.
I don't buy the initial 206 pills story, nobody fights to the the death for such a paltry amount. Reckon the Major who owned the Audi ran the show but his mate took the ultimate fall, forge a bill of sale for the Q7 after, tell the five accomplices to shut up and they'll get a few years max, dead guy can tell no tales, the dept. strips the Major of title for supposedly selling the car but really its cause of the Meth, and life goes on. Good optics in the end! Or is the newsprint article from the CD the real version? Anybody got a better version?
