Khmer Times Newspaper says Phnom Penh tap water safe to drink?

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

wow, never had one of those in 30 years LOL
so 30x12x$5 $1,800!!!
No you clutz. It's $5 per month and that's if your wasting it like I do. 1 M2 or 2 should be suffient for most. that's about 30c p m.
Of course the f'ing Khmer charge double or more on the water as well.

Bottled water per 20l is 2000R. 50c again bloody Sino Khmers I should imagine, as it's very epnsive for water. Thailand sounds like almost half for somewhere the GDP is double or more, KOW KOW KOW

Nothing is for free in Cambodia except disease and death.
Cluutz??? :stir:
yes $5/month x 12 months in a year x 30 years no water bills= ??

2,000 riiels in Cambodia, ( $.50) 10 baht here ( $.30)

It depends on usage. My neighbours are always amazed at my water bill. It's pretty much always 5000 riels (for two months). So roughly $7.5-10 per year. Can't complain. The neighbours always gather and have a peak when the lady hands them out. I then joke that it's because I only shower once per week. I live alone, but I have a washing machine which I use quite often and take several showers per day... Most of the neighbouring families seem to spend around $7-10 every two months. Now my electricity bill is another thing, but water is dirt cheap...
