yeah in any establishment aimed at khmers i dont think ive paid for lady drinks, KTVs, Beer Gardens etc.. you buy a Tower/Jug or box of beer/bottle of spirit and all share, no inflated prices for the girls, just a few dollars tip to the girl at the end of the nightRaybull wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2017 8:25 pmIn KTVs PR, do keep up!phuketrichard wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2017 8:15 pm RaybullThere's lady drinks in every bar that has ladies,,,, where have you been?.....there's no lady drinks here either like in Thailand AFAIK

These stories stopped amazing me years ago. There has been a steady flow of chumps coming through Cambodia for years . Before all the hostess bars popped up, the Walkabout was one of the only place in town with plenty of girls and open 24 hours. I can't remember the amount of times I'd talk to guys in there that had claimed to have lived in Thailand for 10+ years. They came to Cambodia and in their first night lost their phone and several hundred $ from their rooms. A sucker is born every minute over here.

a good read;
closed just a few days over a year ago
[quote]When the metal gates of the Walkabout Hotel on Street 51 were closed for the last time on April 21, it was one of the few times they had been shut in nearly 20 years.
The hotel and bar – known for its seedy crowd, Joker Draw tournament and abundance of sex workers – had operated 24 hours a day, including national holidays, since it opened in 1998. The closure marks another lost Phnom Penh expat institution, and a nail in the coffin of the city’s “Wild West” image, according to longtime foreign residents and business owners.
“Phnom Penh is not the same – it never will be,” said Adam Parker, the editor of Bayon Pearnik, a foreigner-friendly magazine distributed for free since 1996. The publication’s offices were once located above the Walkabout, with a front-row view into the din below.[/quote

I don't know if these long-term Thailand expats grew complacent and left their brains back in Thailand or they let their guards down and were outwitted by a Khmer farm girl with zero formal education and heavy on the street smarts
