Google Releases Their FIRST Smartphone!
You probably think this topic title is incorrect, but it's really the first smartphone Google has made on their own:

It's called the Google Pixel and the most most alluring factor to me is that it comes with UNLIMITED storage on their cloud servers to store all your full resolution images (and videos?) forever.
I just started on a new 1TB cloud storage through OneDrive and it will be lucky to last any longer than a year or 2 before it's full.

sooner or later, every time, it winds up costing more. I also have wondered who really has access to these files.phuketrichard wrote:sure its unlimited to suck u in, than once u have 2-4 TB of stuff they tell you, "Oh by the way we need start charging you $20,50,100/month.

personally, I put mine on DVD's. A bit of effort but prolly just as cost effective and I think the life times are better.
one day they may stop selling DVD players and then I'm prolly screwed!
as for smart phones, I've never owned one and don't see the need for the cost personally (and I hate lugging big phones around).
just sayin'
cheers

Make sure you check they're still readable from time to time and keep duplicates for when you find they're not!Bertros wrote:about 7.5 gig-they're surprising cheap these days. Got started that way with CD's since 'way back'.SinnSisamouth wrote:dvd !

I'm pretty passed pissed off about this to be honest.
All Google has done is rebranded the Nexus lines to Increase prices.
I was more interested in their Google Home product.
