Is it important to stay OT ?

Got a question, idea, etc that doesn't fit in anywhere else? No problem. Just a simple place to chat.

Is it important to stay OT ?

Postby Anchor Moy » Sat Oct 01, 2016 8:14 pm

There are the for and against arguments for threads staying on topic. The 'for' remaining OT argument is that people who are not usually forum posters ie; :newbie: or lurk can hit a thread and find the info they want. Threads that get derailed like : general-chatter/sihanoukville-beach-fro ... 2-130.html are amusing but confusing.

This is a question for mods, but it's also a question about what CEO forum users want to see. Is it important to stay on topic, or is it the open-ended discussions that lead to other subjects of discussion that gives the forum its personality ?

So what do you want ? More thread moderation, so you can access accurate info on CEOCambodia more easily, or a place where you can have pizzas and space-cats in threads called Sihanoukville Beach Front ?
I'm ok for both, but there is a question here and I think it's good for posters to give their opinion. :beer3:

Threads need more mods, or let them free ?

If somebody wants to talk about something which has absolutely no relevance at all to an existing thread, it should be posted on a new thread

Mod View: I think it's just the nature of forums in general to get OT.

Personal View: We need more photos of JLs hair styles, over the years, in random threads. ;-)
... give 'em a quick, short, sharp shock ...
