ABA Bank
ABA Bank
Went to withdraw money out of ATM with my Oz CBA card and now the ATM access fee has risen to $ 9 !!!! WTF>
Re: ABA Bank
You live here? If so, why don't you open a bank account here, then you won't have to worry about paying ATM fees.
That is a bit bloody rude though, $9!

Re: ABA Bank
I found a solution. I opened a Citibank account in Australia which comes with a Visa debit card and they don't charge a fee for international withdrawals. I use the card at Maybank ATMs which also don't charge a fee. And the exchange rate is not a rort either.Popeye wrote:Went to withdraw money out of ATM with my Oz CBA card and now the ATM access fee has risen to $ 9 !!!! WTF>
Took two attempts to open the account online from here though. First attempt was foiled because I used my sister's Melbourne address and they apparently use electoral rolls and/or white pages to validate your ID, so they wanted me to rock up at Aus Post. So I reapplied using my own Sydney address for residential and sister's address for postal and it all went to plan. Sister sent my card by Registered Airmail and it was here in three days. No more ATM fees!

Re: ABA Bank
An ABA ATM card includes free withdrawals in the dozens of ABA machines around town. But if you WD from a non-ABA machine, they take 2% of the amount withdrawn, with minimum charge of $5. So a $500 WD means $10 fee! Check the other charges here: https://www.ababank.com/personal/paymen ... bit-cards/ Tap on the tab for Visa fees.

That explains why they are installing them on virtually every corner.ExPenhMan wrote:if you WD from a non-ABA machine, they take 2% of the amount withdrawn, with minimum charge of $5. So a $500 WD means $10 fee!

That's why you only withdraw cash from your banks ATM's, not other banks'.ExPenhMan wrote:An ABA ATM card includes free withdrawals in the dozens of ABA machines around town. Yes, Kiwi, I do have an ABA bank account but did not have sufficient funds in it for the amount I needed. So went to Canadia bank instead.PSD-Kiwi wrote:You live here? If so, why don't you open a bank account here, then you won't have to worry about paying ATM fees.

Re: ABA Bank
I have read positive reports on the ABA online service but I don't specifically know about the app.
Re: ABA Bank
I have the app, but using it, somewhere along the process you are sent an SMS to verify that it is you. Now a long time ago I changed my phone number so not able to use this service. Have notified ABA Bank 5 times of change of number, but still has not happened !!!! Fuck em.
