I assume a tourist visa?
We are both on tourist visas
I'll help clear things up..
if your on a Tourist Visa you dont have a great deal of options...
depending on if the new system is in place ill give all options...

Option 1 (PRE 1st September)
If you are both on Tourist Visas that have not yet been extended,
you can extend them at a tour operator for only 1 month at the cost of $50
after this you will have to do a border run if you want to stay longer
at the border you will have to get an E-Visa $35
and then extend it for 3 months $90
Total = $175 + travel expenses

Option 2 (PRE 1st September)
you could do a visa run straight away
when at the border get the E-Visa = $35
and then extend it for 3 months = $90
Total = $125

Option 3 POST 1st September)
there are supposedly new visas coming out this month but im not too sure how official it all is atm
there is supposedly a new 3 month Tourist Visa extension
so just go to a tour operator and extend your tourist visas for 3months
Total = (costs unknown, but with 1 month tourist visa extensions being $50 i cant see it being cheap!!)

One month extensions of any type were always relatively expensive, I'd imagine 3 month ones will be nearer the E-class visa extension price, like $75 or something.

Just to add, this can be done at Lucky Lucky's for $48 USD.

Good work Jamie, at least one person who knows how the visas work posted accurate information. :thumb:

In regards to the post September 1st visa situation, there have been no changes made or new visa categories made available yet (information current as of today).

New visas: ER retirement visa.

For those of you on ordinary visas who want a 6 or 12 month extension. If you are not working or planning to work in Cambodia, you should ask for an ER extension instead of an EB.
The information given to me by the travel agent is that ER is a retirement visa, but you can be any age and they don't ask for papers or a certain amount of money in the bank or anything. The girl did say that with an ordinary business visa extension EB, you may be expected to have a work permit, which is not the case with the ER.
For the moment anyway, the ER visa is just like the old ordinary/business visa without work permit hassles.

Technically, no, but this is Cambodia, so, up to you. :wink:

Also note...it is not a retirement "visa", it is an "extension of stay"

if i do end up working
what are the options about changing the extension?
like can you get one cancelled and then buy a different extension?
as 6/12 month extensions are multi entry so just doing a border run wont cancel the visa
