5000 Dollar Worth of a 2 Dollar Note Wooden Sculpture Believed to Bring Luck

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

2 Questions: I have a US $2 note, is it worth more than $2 ? (In Cambodia.) Should I frame it and put it on the wall to show that I'm extremely lucky. (Don't mess with me. 8) )
Thank you. :hattip:

Edit: 3rd possibility - have it tattooed on my body to ward off evil spirits.
All advice welcome.

I had some fucker at Llama Mart on Street 51 try to give me a $2 note as change, and I made him give me 2 $1 notes instead.

I've had trouble trying to spend them before here.

They are worth $2.50 or so if somebody is buying. I've tried to spend them before though and nobody would accept them.

I'd like to see that sculpture when it's a bit more finished, it's at a very rough stage in those pictures.

My neighbour said she had been given one as change and noone would take it, either. In the end one of her workmates took it because he considered it lucky, even though it seems to be anything but.

Even in the USA, store clerks have called the police when confronted with one (this has a parallel in Youkay; try passing a Scottish
or Norn Iron banknote in London)

Here is a little about the $2 bill:

One version is that the big picture is an allegory; the men depicted were never all together in one place at the same time

Same as a lot of businesses here in Cambodia, quite often business owners will have them blessed by monks and then frame it and display behind the counter.
