Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Three-year Visas Available Next Month

The Cambodian government will soon allow foreigners to stay for up to three years on a single visa, in a bid to meet a goal of seven million overseas travelers annually by 2020.

The three-year multiple-entry visa, a new government strategy to encourage foreigners to come to the Kingdom, will allow foreigners to stay in the country for up to three years, Minister of Tourism Thong Khon said on Wednesday.

The multiple-entry visa application will be available from September 1 to foreigners from all countries, Mr. Khon said, with different prices according to the length of stay although pricing details of the new visas were unavailable.

The new entry visa will allow tourists and businesspeople to enter and exit Cambodia many times during the visa’s validity period, Mr. Khon said.

“They can apply for a visa in Cambodia and can travel in and out many times according to the visa they apply for. Tourists and investors can apply for a two-year stay or three-year stay with multiple entries.”...

From FB...no idea whether this information is legit or not, doesn't match up with current Immigration visas, but with recent press releases regarding ER visa and long term visas who knows.

Would be great if Immigration Department would release up to date, accurate, detailed information on all visas and requirements... wishful thinking!

Doesn't look official at all, although it could be an unofficial translation of an official memo...who knows?

I can confirm the info is legit (at least that's what Lucky Lucky told me as of today).

They also said they could offer me a 1-year multiple-entry tourist visa to Vietnam for $200. That's kinda cool.

I also asked about work permits, and their answer wasn't very clear.

They said I'd be back-taxed (they actually called it just "tax") $100 a year from the date of my first regular visa, and I'd pay a whopping $300 a year to do the work permit through them.

What wasn't exactly clear was if the renewal through them would continue to cost $300 a year or what.

That sounds higher than anything I've heard quoted before.

I think they said it was still $282 a year for the 1-year regular visa extension too.

of course it will be able to extend forever, same as current business visa,
i haven't had a thai visa since 2001. just extensions

BUT as far as the letter goes ( i saw it on fb too) no idea where it came from
1. HOW MUCH IT costs ( extensions other than the business one which we know how much)
2. what u need show to prove ur retired
3. what age
4, do u need show$$ and if so how much and where

I see some countries in Europe want to extend retirement age to 67...

BUT u were out the past 2 years? or did u keep getting 1 years extensions while u were gone?
time for new passport if ur "tax" is over $100 ( as a new us passport is only $110, UNLESS they kept everything in a computer.

Cool, re confirmation of ER visa.

That $200 US VN visa is for Americans only after a bilateral agreement was announced recently. But you have to leave VN every 90 days.
