World's new party destinations, aka places to avoid.

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

No idea whether there is any organised planned sewage treatment, or if all the new places just run more blue plastic pipes down into the sea ?
As far as I know there are very few sewage treatment plants in Cambodia. I don't know of any in the capital, but I do know a lot about the stinking canals and where they flow to. They all flow into wetlands to the south of the dyke road and on to the Bassac River. Strangely enough the water becomes quite clear and doesn't smell much after a hundred meters or so into these swampy areas.
Many houses outside the main grid use septic-tanks. The overflow from them is what you see a lot. Raw sewage is not so common.
There is as far as I know a modern sewage treatment plant in Sihanoukville, how effective or useful it is I don't know.
septic tanks are designed to do that.
they use a three compartment system and the solid waste rots down and eventually flows out as fluid
