Travel in Myanmar

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Travel in Myanmar

Post by phuketrichard »

For duncan
Am now in Homalin , which is 2 days travel south of Khamti in northern myanmar on the Chindwin river, near Nagaland.. Fantastic.
Love it here.
Got 3 more days on the river, which might be 5. Till i hit Monywa and than bus back to mandalay before flying back to phuket.
Its a great country, great food and ,at least where i go Zero tourists.

Easy to get pre approved visa on line.

3g and not to fast but not to slow either.......

Super friendly people ,even more so than Thais or Khmers.

How long is a tourist visa valid for, and how does a person qualify to stay in the country long term or even permanently?

And of course I just have to ask ,,, the girls, how do they compare with Cambodian girls in looks, and more importantly ,, intelligence.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

28 day tourist visa.
I have 1 friend works at internatioanl school in yangon. 1 year business visa but needs leave every 70 days.
Another works for carlesberg. 1 year visa, doesn't need leave.
Another is married and has a 1 year visa
Worthless uneducated english teachers not wanted lol

As to ladies, there are no bars that i have seen. Been north, south and east. 4 trips in last 18 months. I see many lovely ladies but most ,outside Yangon ,do not speak english.
If ur looking for anything like cambodia or thailand in that repect dont bother going. There are ktv's and i have been offered but Only in yangon.
No secrets on my website.
