Sen Monorom
Sen Monorom
I recently spent a couple of days there and loved it again. Nope I don't go there for elephant sanctuaries but most of all I always manage to meet a few tourists with a bit of adventure in their soul. And oh yes the avocados which are priced in the small local market at 5500-6500,riels per kilo. A little small this year( I suspect insufficient rain) but not at all stringy. This is a vegetable Khmer don't understand at all
I've only seen them in teukaleuks. Yes, right now I'M gloating over my second bowl of guacamole.
Among the new places I recommend"Chill on.the Rocks" the main drag going out of town. It's run by a Swedish couple in a small resto/bar with great and reasonably priced snacks and beer. Even some of the locals come there. Really GREAT ambience. A good publication for NE Cambodia is called not too surprisingly"TRAVEL NORTHEAST CAMBODIA". It's free, but I picked mine up in Kampong Cham in a guesthouse.

Well buddy, if I didn't reckon so, I would 't say it
Kindly provide with some dishes using avacado.

Re: Sen Monorom
Cambodian or khmer cuisines don't use avocado. I hardly can think of any Cambodian foods that use avocado. However, just because we don't use it in our cuisines, then you assumed that we know nothing about avocado. Most of Cambodians put avocado with other fruits to make fruit shake. BTW, do you put prahok in your food?

",BTW, do you put prahok in your food?"
No, my wife does. BTW your answer re-enforced my assertion. I never claimed you don't know about plai beurre, I simply maintained You do not know how to use it as an ingrédient in your cultural cuisine with the exception of teukaleuks.
It's a problem dealing with You don't know enough to respect you, but you're not so stupid I have to pity you.

When i talked about prohok and food, i referred to your western foods, do you put prohok in your foods? I guess not, so you must not know how to use it as an ingredient in your cultural cuisine.asp wrote:",BTW, do you put prahok in your food?"

I bet you understand it well enough to know it's a fruit not a vegetable. Which might be a good starter for ten when lecturing others on their inadequate knowledge; might it not?Samouth wrote:You reckon mate ?asp wrote:This is a vegetable Khmer don't understand at all

Re: Sen Monorom
i am heading up there in August, any suggestions there and also in Banlung?
I am buying a Garmin for this trip and future Myanmar trips,
tired of asking my gf to ask people who have no idea, directions
i have learned from numerous road trip, 95% of locals living outside the city ( and many in them) have no idea what lies 10 kms from where they live.
whats with Samouth Calling people Mate now? loss of identity?

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
