Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

I heard a different account of the legend, it seems to be the accepted one amonst the locals down here. If you Google Pich Nil ( the correct spelling) instead of Pich Nel, you will find a few different versions.
BTW - the chicken fried rice at 333 restaurant in the village is EXCELLENT, one of the best I have ever had!

The Sexy Spirit Guardian of Cambodia’s Most Dangerous Road
Khmer Times/Pav Suy and Jonathan Cox
Sunday, 08 May 2016

(Pich Nil, Kampong Speu province) – Drivers along National Road 4 stop to make offerings to the spirit of a long-dead woman known as Yeay Mao, praying for good luck and a safe trip.

Her shrine sits about 100 kilometers south of Phnom Penh on a twisty section of the highway overlooking the Pich Nil valley.

Ly Heng, 33, in a leather jacket with a Harley-Davidson logo emblazoned on the back, stopped by the shrine yesterday to pour holy water over his head and flick some onto his bike.

“We stop here to ask for safety as we drive along this road,” he said. “It’s dangerous because there are a lot of freight trucks, so we always stop at the shrine to ask for safety on the road.”

The large number of trucks that carry freight between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville have earned National Road 4 a reputation as the most dangerous road in the country. For decades, drivers along this highway have turned to an unlikely source for help – the spirit of a sexually frustrated wife known as Yeay Mao (“black grandmother” in Khmer).

Chhoeung Sambo, the manager of the shrine and an expert on the myth, said Yeay Mao is the spirit of a long-dead woman who went in search of her husband who was away at war in Thailand.

“Why did she try to find him? She missed his penis,” Mr. Sambo explained...

I love all these old folk stories. Don't you? It is funny and a shame they have to clean them all up in the end. Never mind, one has only to listen to a female cat on heat to be reminded of what's what.

Ha! That's gotta be Boomer. I think if I was buying a second-hand dildo I'd want to see a pic of the previous owner.
