Cambodia's 7 Best Islands

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Cambodia's 7 Best Islands

Post by sigmoid »

Cambodia's 7 best islands
Country has an island for all types and budgets

http://www.ktvz.com/lifestyle/travel/Ca ... s/26689148

This was originally on CNN, so I doubt it's very accurate.

Here's the list for those who don't feel like reading the whole thing:

1) Best island for partying: Koh Rong

2) Best island for relaxing: Koh Rong Sanloem

3) Best island for luxury: Song Saa

4) Best island for nature watching: Koh Thmei

5) Best island for meeting the green fairy: Koh Ta Kiev

6)Best island for diving: Koh Tang

7) Best island for unplugging: Koh Totang

The article begins: "They're still massively undeveloped compared to their Thai neighbors..."

Sure, it's nice to have a little comfort, but this seems like a "massively" GOOD thing to me. Heaven forbid that any of these places end up like Phuket.

I may be going to hell in a bucket,
but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

In the developed but not like Phuket vein Phu Quoc is great. Visa is expensive but everything else is so cheap you'll make up for it elsewhere.

Actually, I happen to know the author... I haven't been to many of them myself (ironic that they were part of the reason I moved down here, but I haven't been since the move) but I trust it to be quite accurate, despite where it was published.

Half a million a month? 16,000 new arrivals per day every day 365 days a year?

Sounds like hell... or a TAT pipe dream.

Actually, I happen to know the author...
Really? Any details on that?

A friend and expat here. If you google the name you'll see their other pieces they've published on Cambodia.
