Japanese sexualization of school girls and sexual assault.

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

You're getting off topic JSP. I agree that there is an unhealthy side to Cambodian sexuality regarding violence, but I really don't think you can compare Japan to Cambodia.

Sexualization of young girls, and schoolgirls in particular, is particular to Japanese sexual culture. Possession of child pornography in Japan was only made illegal in 2014, and the law became active in 2015, with a year's grace for all those kiddy porn fans to get rid of their collections. That seems to indicate that even if kid porn was not mainstream, it was effectively tolerated as an acceptable fetish in Japanese society.

Re child sexual abuse - the UK and USA rate fairly high.
Child Sexual Abuse: Top 5 Countries With the Highest Rates

1 South Africa
2 India
3 Zimbabwe
4 UK
A quarter of a million Britons - more than one in every 200 adults - are paedophiles, according to figures released by Scotland Yard, the Telegraph reported in 2000.
In 2012/13, there were 18,915 sexual crimes against children under 16 recorded in England and Wales, according to the National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). Included in that figure were 4,171 offences of sexual assault on a female child under 13 and 1,267 offences of sexual assault on under-13 male children.

In the UK, one in 20 children (4.8%) have experienced contact sexual abuse and over 90% of children who experienced sexual abuse, were abused by someone they know, NSPCC said.

5USA
The US Department of Health and Human Services' Children's Bureau report Child Maltreatment 2010 found that 16% of young people aged 14 to 17 had been sexually victimized in that year, and over the course of their lifetime, 28% of young people in the US, aged 14 to 17, had been sexually victimized.
"Adult retrospective studies show that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men were sexually abused before the age of 18. This means there are more than 42 million adult survivors of child sexual abuse in the US," said the CAC.

Those figures dont mean diddly shit unless you know who did the surveys or reporting and how they were made up.

I would suggest we do a survey here and see what results we get.

And if we included expats on K440 that have been sexually victimized by scoobi it would be 110 %
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Exactly right! :D

Actually on a serious note I did find one case from 1993

James Bulger 'battered with bricks'

JAMES BULGER, the Merseyside toddler whose mutilated body was found on a railway line at Walton, Liverpool, in February, was violently attacked with bricks, stones, and a piece of metal by two 10-year-old boys who abducted him from a shopping centre at Bootle and took him on a two-mile walk to his death, a jury at Preston crown court heard yesterday. https://www.theguardian.com/uk/1993/nov ... omsharratt

In related news 3 days ago, child abuse and porno cases hit record in Japan, National Police Agency says. The numbers have been on a steep upward trajectory since 2004 (when comparable stats became available). That is one sick society.

i did stray from title but it was this part of the op that I felt like responding to;
When asked about the perception of schoolgirls, Araki and others refer to the archetype of "Lolita".
According to Goto, this idea is borrowed from the Russian American novelist Vladimir Nabokov, but in Japan is largely understood as a young girl who is "the image of obedience, subservience", and is reinforced in widely read manga.
it's not the sexualisation but the "the image of obedience and subservience" that set me off. normally these restrictive controlling parents are seen in the west as the cause of much abuse -in both child and adulthood. i don't know much bout Japanese society/ culture, but i see this everyday here.
