No efforts are being spared by Thai and Cambodia authorities, who are co-ordinating their efforts to hunt down Kenway's suspected killers with their usual efficiency. The suspects will have plenty of time to chill at the beach, while discussions are ongoing and reports and requests for cooperation are being drafted and sent by the Thais to the appropriate authorities in Cambodia.

Thai murder suspects in Cambodia

...All immigration checkpoints were alerted to look out for Mr. Turner, but the alert came too late as he had already crossed the border into Cambodia through the Klongyai border crossing in Trat province.
Meanwhile, police managed to identify the suspected gunman from the video footage as Mr. Bonito, who crossed into Thailand from Cambodia through the border crossing in Klongyai on December 19 and escaped through the same border crossing on Tuesday at about 3pm...

Kim Rattana, the deputy director of Koh Kong province’s Cham Yeam international immigration checkpoint, said he was aware of the case but had not received orders to take action or search for the two suspects.

“I heard the case happened on Tuesday and the two foreign suspects have entered Cambodia already, but we can’t do anything right now unless there is a request from Thai authorities,” he said.

Som Vann Virak, director of the Interior Ministry’s internal security department, said he had not heard of the case and added that Thailand had yet to request cooperation.

Chhay Rithy, the deputy National Police commissioner in charge of internal security, said Cambodian authorities could not do anything until the Thai side requested cooperation.

Deputy National Police Commissioner Chhay Sinarith said that without a request for cooperation, Cambodian authorities could not take action because it would an abuse of the rights of the foreigners.
“If Thai authorities request cooperation, they would send us a report about the incident,” he said.

Latest version of the affair seems quite clear. Briefly, Kenway and a partner were running a call centre in Thailand scamming Europeans investors for large sums of money. The two men had a dispute, the other guy set up business in Cambodia. Bonito and Turner were involved in this business, and quite probably sent by their boss from Cambodia to kill Kenway.
A source on the investigation team said Kenway had been involved in an illegal call centre that had preyed on foreign nationals in European countries.
Kenway was arrested in Thailand in September last year and was granted bail, saying he would fight the charges.

Investigators had learned Kenway had a conflict with a former partner in the call centre who owed him 8 million baht. Kenway had kept asking for payment. When the man failed to settle the debt, Kenway had asked police to arrest him.

His former business partner then moved to Cambodia where he opened a similar call centre operation. However, it did not do well, the source said.
It was believed the two suspects were jointly involved in the Cambodian operation.
Kenway was also facing charges in the UK and was wanted by British authorities, the source said.

Good question. The name of the Cambodian business and the guy who is running it. It should be on record with Thai police.

Interesting look at the underside of business in Thailand by Andrew Drummond:

GODFATHERS, BRITS AND MURDER IN THAILAND'S 'COSTA DEL CRIME'
Thursday, January 26, 2017
With the alleged assassins of Briton Tony Kenway in Thailand named and on the run Thai police remain cautious about naming the source of the victim’s wealth although, according to the Khao Sod newspaper in Bangkok, they privately admitted he was a ‘boiler room’ scammer.

Andrew always seems to get to the nitty gritty of things :beer3:
Thai police have stated that the two alleged assassins have crossed the border into Cambodia through the Koh Kong border point and that they are co-operating with Cambodian police.

This has been confirmed by immigration police in Koh Kong

And a couple of doors away from 'Above Us Only Sky', which was also in the news a couple of years back.

Turner shaved off his beard while en route for the Thai-Cambodia border. Whereas Abel Bonito has posted himself all over social media, photos of Miles Turner are rare, and as was pointed out here, his passport photo is 7 years old.
Yesterday, the driver of a chartered van, Lert Laimeunwai, 48, told investigators that the two suspects had rented his van from Trat to Chon Buri on January 19, the same day that the duo entered Thailand via the Trat border checkpoint. They agreed to pay him Bt2,500 a day for six days rental plus Bt500 a day for accommodation.

He said they did not use his vehicle until Tuesday when they called him to pick them up in the van and take them to the Trat border checkpoint.
He told police that while they were in the vehicle, the man identified as Turner shaved off his beard and smoked and they gave him a Bt5,000 tip when they arrived at the border checkpoint. Forensic officers have collected evidence and fingerprints from the van.

Not really relevant. Tranquility hasn't looked like that for at least 3 years, probably longer.
Last I heard of Ian, he was in SR.
