You could try Anana or ICE in Phnom Penh.

Just don't buy a 2TB Transcend Drive... they're utter shite. I bought 3 in one go. One failed on boot, the other 2 both stutter (a lot) during long data read/write sessions... Worst $450 IT investment I've ever made. I will be buying my back up drives in Thailand in future where I can get Western Digital drives.

3 different big IT stores in Phnom Penh... each had only one in stock. I've never had a problem with the 1TB Transcend drives but the 2TB are shit.ryoon wrote:Where did you buy ? Just counted my Transcend stuff 3 x 500 GB, 6 x 1TB and 3 x 2 TB... never had a problem with the smaller drives but the 2 TB is total shit. I've never had drives perform this badly even when they reached end of line...vladimir wrote:I only ever had one problem with a Transcend drive

Re: Looking for Hard Drive in Cambo
It is not Transcend it is Cambodia .
I had to order some tech equipment a little above average (power and memory capacity), it is unsafe to buy those in Cambodia even if you know the owner of an IT shop.
To make it short the market is none existent so they do not have good supplier and do not know or care about finding some.
In my case the owner of the shop was honest and told me that for some pieces he was not sure of the quality ( once again QC reject or bad imitation being a possibility) .
Two IT guy (one westerner and on Khmer) told me exactly the same thing. Normal equipment are ok but more expensive or unusual thing can be a problem.
You have the same problem in Thailand by the way it is just that you have to go higher in the price list to encounter it.
The safe way (and expensive way) is to order on internet and have it deliver in Cambodia.
