I have an Oculus Rift and the impact of the technology cannot be overstated. Your eyesight overrides your other senses such that your mind is more convinced by the VR than actual reality. You seriously would not want to try this while in an altered state.

Too late at night for Google research but wasn't there an Instructible for making your own from scratch? I haven't heard if anyone receiving the cardboard version yet. Is that the one that's made for the new phablet with the curved screen?

Not sure what the ORs are selling for now, paid $300 plus shipping for my DK1 and Facebook promised it wasn't going to amp the price after buying the company, even stating it would sell at a loss for the sake of the technology - bet that didn't last.

I'm hoping mine is increasing in value as a collectible.
