Re: Crackdown on Families Committing Suicide in North Korea
If you want to peruse this fresh BBC story from inside N Korea, what an astonishingly filthy hopeless life for most of the population. Many depended on pre-pandemic "open" borders to build up a minuscule side hustle merely to survive to the next day. The borders are still closed and almost...

Re: Hillbilly's home movies.
I decided today to look back at a particular resident Bali video producer. A recent 2023 vid by Jean Voronkova (<< channel name///Singaporean gal with Russian husband << pre-warmongering) runs through the recent changes, including (shockingly misbehaving) tourists overrunning the island hotspots in ...

Re: New Vietnam draft law to offer 3-month e-visa
Meanwhile, ZERO news on the VN visa law amendments. They were supposed to be discussed at the National Assembly June 2, but here it is, 12 days later and not a peep. I scan 7-8 VN news sites every day. I suppose northern power shortages is more a important issue.

Re: Hillbilly's home movies.
My feelings have run hot and cold after seeing previous videos of Bali. KfH, you have rekindled my interest. I have usually tired of places after 6 months to a year and then moved on. The pandemic nailed me to Bangkok for almost 3 years now. It made me forget my reflex to leave places and move on a...

Re: New Vietnam draft law to offer 3-month e-visa
It seems what has been proposed on visa changes can be modified and even improved. As reported by Voice of Vietnam yesterday, apparently some lawmakers on the sponsoring National Defense and Security Committee asked why not offer a 6-month visa. Nothing more was said about this amendment. We still h...

Re: New Vietnam draft law to offer 3-month e-visa
Good news and so so news, plus some surprising news -- potentially, long-term visas! Also very welcome is what appears to be a new attitude that changes must come soon due to heavy competition from neighbouring nations. The original proposed visa changes have been presented to the Vietnam National A...

Inching along. . . . Well, the 15th VN National Assembly is in session as of this morning. There will be two sessions: May 22 - June 10 and June 19 - 23, totalling 22 days for the gabfest Note the rubber stamp function of the NA: "will review and approve." The law changing the e-...
