Re: Yikes,it's the gripes !
I'm moving to PP in 2 months. I have lived in SE Asia for 25 years so I am well aware of the merits and downsides that cities or coastal towns offer. I was just wondering. For you, the long term expats in PP or Snooky, what is the one thing that annoys you most about where you live? I could give yo...

Re: Sniper Shatters World Record
Playing around with a Shooters Calc program and it came out that it would have to be about an 8.25 sec shot with the shot aimed at about 300m (a 10 degree elevation) over the targets head. http://www.shooterscalculator.com/ballistic-trajectory-chart.php?t=647eb252 https://i.imgur.com/3le9WZ0.jpg No...

Re: It's Over
i thought with this being an expat forum of a southeast asia, most people that would be discussing this was a little bit more adventurous than the average joe back home... :thumb: 8) I used to feel like that. Now I feel like slowly setting concrete. But, I'm determined not to rest on my laurels for...

Re: Voltage stabiliser
Following up, AE86, given the dirty power in PP, do you think a voltage stabilizer in behind a UPS would protect the UPS significantly enough to be worth it? I missed this thread, sorry Vlad. Not sure Stroppy but I know they give horrible harmonic hum on audio devices like hifi etc. Once again, unl...

Re: Voltage stabiliser
Unless I'm wrong, I suppose you could get one of those plug in boxes (1kw probably sufficient) that you wire to the mains and can plug the icebox directly into that. I can't remember the prices though, but I want to say PP Electrical supply has the 1Kw Chinese units for $40 or so. It's what I had t...

Re: Voltage stabiliser
I bought a Sharp ,, fridge /freeze about one month ago,, which has a sticker on the door saying, ,, Wide Range Voltage. 113v---260 v. Not too sure of the exact numbers as I'm not at home where that fridge is.,,, I would assume that means it would not need a Voltage Stabilizer. But thats not the rea...

Re: Computer and Voltage issues help
I got a UPS that has a green light and a yellow light and red light. Green is always on. If the yellow light blinks its being used, if it stay lit it has no issues. It clicks everytime before the yellow light blinks meaning some kind of voltage issue which happens a whole lot. Our house is decently...

Re: ‘Flawed’ approaches behind the Kingdom’s failure in democracy
Said it more than once, doubt we will see elections anytime soon, if ever... The “four questions” recently posed to the people by the prime minister concerning future elections and good governance once again suggested that the military-installed government will be here to stay and there is no guara...
