Re: New Vietnam draft law to offer 3-month e-visa

Fresh from the Vietnam Dept. of Blah blah blah . . . First, the Tourism ministry is maybe, possibly, potentially getting real -- well, okay, most ASEAN nations are eyeing the so-called wealthy tourists. However, the magical word "retired" is referenced for the first time that I recall: Fro...

Re: Hillbilly's home movies.

Enjoyed the shopping video a lot.

NB: I assume you are out of range of the earthquake in Karnali province.

Re: New Vietnam draft law to offer 3-month e-visa

My head was spinning after watching this video by a Vietnamese immigration consultant, a lawyer, by the way. A second viewing was necessary and it seemed clearer. While he gives e-visa application a thumbs down, he does go on to explain the form questions and reasoning behind them. Tip: You do have...

Re: New Vietnam draft law to offer 3-month e-visa

^^^ Endless complaints. As noted by many commenters on various news sites, people are choosing elsewhere because it is so much easier, or giving up completely. And get this . . . VN Express reports VN Immigration announced SUNDAY night -- whatever 08:36 pm PT means -- it will cost US$50 for the 90-d...

Re: New Vietnam draft law to offer 3-month e-visa

VN Express has published a screen shot and relevant details of the e-visa process. Answers most of my questions above, except for the alleged insurance thing. It is still worth going to the link, which has a helpful government issued graphic of the application form. Strangely enough, it was publishe...

Re: New Vietnam draft law to offer 3-month e-visa

Needing some details: To you fellas who have plumbed the e-visa site: -- what is the 90-day fee? -- how long does it take to get an approval reply? -- is there a mandatory insurance package? -- are the 30-day and 90-day applications separate links? Or are they just in drop-down menus? -- how many ph...

Re: New Vietnam draft law to offer 3-month e-visa

Thanks for the details, guys. But wow, insurance and past visitor history is going to be a pain -- neither of which was ever mentioned in earlier stories. I guess you only find out this stuff when applying. The visa site intro is an utter shambles. I will rate this sorry visa page a D-. Anyway, I ma...

Re: New Vietnam draft law to offer 3-month e-visa

Update below . . . A lot of skimpy information on the overall e-visa program. The only solid info from various news and government sources is the upgrading of maximum stay from 15 days to 45 days for the nationalities listed below. Looks like the former list, with no additions it seems. So I guess O...

Re: New Vietnam draft law to offer 3-month e-visa

Not a grain of info on the new VN 90-day e-visa policy, which was approved June 24 and takes effect tomorrow, Aug. 15. Back in March 2022, VN didn't release any info on the reinstatement of the 30-day e-visa until a day or two after the effective date. However, the VN gov just issued a barely useful...
