Re: khmer VS thai girls
Yeah the bar girls are definitely not angels and I met some real sociopaths but then I was also out looking for trouble at certain places. However... My typical bar experience in Nana will involve a fairly unattractive lady with a bad personality wanting $90 for LT on top of the bar fine drinks and ...

Re: khmer VS thai girls
I've had much better experiences connecting with women in PP than Bangkok or Pattaya. I was mainly in the bars so that's my only point of reference, but even so, I had waitresses and cute bartenders wanting to flirt and have interesting conversations in fluent English. I haven't seen that in Thailan...

Re: Cambodia's Curse
Hi John, Thanks for the friendly warning but I've read some negative reviews already and I accept that there will be errors. Has anyone written a historical review from that UNTAC times and post election that is free from errors? I am especially interested im this book because blame is laid not onl...

Re: Cambodia for 6 - 12 months?
Why restrict yourself to one place, as Phnom Penh, SHV and Siem Reap are distinctly different with their own positives and negatives you have time to spend a couple of months or more in each to keep you fresh and experience more of the country. For longer stay in guesthouses I'm sure you can get a ...

Re: Cambodia for 6 - 12 months?
Ok nice, thanks for the info.
Sounds like Sihanoukville or PP are the main contenders however, I won't be coming in until around July or August so I'm wondering what the scene in Snooky will be then.

Re: Cambodia for 6 - 12 months?
Thanks for the reply. My total expenses in Bangkok are $1100 - $1200 without dates or entertainment. So which parts of Cambodia are more expensive than living in the Thonglor neighborhood in Bangkok? I spend $30 on electricity, $9 on water, $60 on internet here. I eat ok but I manage to keep it pret...

Re: Cambodia for 6 - 12 months?
You're saying $1,500 USD a month is not a acceptable living standard in Cambodia? I do great in Bangkok on around the same - although the entertainment is a bit more here. I'm open to working and making some extra money but let's say that doesn't happen. My ideal budget would be around $1,500 - $1,6...

Cambodia for 6 - 12 months?
If you could chill in Cambodia for 6 - 12 months on around $1500 a month how would you do it? I was in PP for 2 weeks and I loved it, was a little put off by the street crime though (often have a camera with me). I am in my 30s and do like ladies of the night and herbal supplements. PP seems like th...
