Re: What's your rent-to-income ratio? Poll.

I have answered based on rent alone, but I don't really think of it in terms of just rent. My electricity bill can be almost as high as my rent, so when budgeting, I think of the two as one single expense. Yep, I think it makes sense to count all housing expenses (rent or mortgage payments, utiliti...

Re: Pedestrianizing Phnom Penh Riverside

As I mentioned earlier, they are building a huge bridge between 106 and 108 so I don't expect that parking lot will be around long. https://cambodianess.com/article/south-korea-friendship-bridge-construction-date-set Is the night market going to be lost to the on/off ramp of the bridge reaching gro...

Re: Pedestrianizing Phnom Penh Riverside

@rogerrabbit Can you confirm that streets 13 and Sisowath quay remain active all the time, and the only north/south streets affected are 5 and 3? My understanding is that the street 13 and Sisowath quay both are closed from traffic as well. But I'm not sure about it. I have only seen these two maps...

Re: Pedestrianizing Phnom Penh Riverside

Here's more information. Images run through google translate so some text might not make much sense. https://i.imgur.com/v6MVDG6.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/hkKwKOA.png So the big lot that used be a park behind the Night Market is now parking lot (it's been like so for some time already actually, as th...

Re: Pedestrianizing Phnom Penh Riverside

Sounds great but where are people going to park their motos or SUVs? And no mention of the giant bridge that's about to go up on top of the Night Market all the way across the rivers. At night, most streets are pretty empty of parked cars, so I would say most of the cars seen on streets during day ...

Pedestrianizing Phnom Penh Riverside

The long-awaited transformation of multiple streets in the Riverside area into pedestrian zones is finally set to happen. These streets will become pedestrian-only from 6 pm to 11 pm. Work is scheduled to commence in May, with all pedestrian streets expected to be ready for the New Year 2025 celebra...

Re: Farewell to an Era: Phnom Penh International Airport Set to Shut Down to Make Way for New Airport Next Year

By the way, Vinci has commenced construction on the new SHV airport terminal this month. The groundwork actually began two years ago, but now there are workers actively involved in the construction once more. Of course, this project is much smaller in scale, with only a 3 million passenger capacity...

Re: Farewell to an Era: Phnom Penh International Airport Set to Shut Down to Make Way for New Airport Next Year

Perhaps you could have enough space for next 10 years if you would use the army land as well, but then you would have even bigger traffic problem on Russian boulevard in your hands with twice the trucks and passengers travelling on the Russian boulevard. It is already awful during peak hours. And t...

Re: Farewell to an Era: Phnom Penh International Airport Set to Shut Down to Make Way for New Airport Next Year

How was that calculated? I have flown to/from PNH many times before and after covid and have yet to see it "busy" in comparison to other airports Why would you compare with other airports that most likely have a capacity many X compared to PNH? If a airport dont have enough gates to rent ...

Re: Borey living

As said earlier in this thread, there are many different types of boreys, some bad and some good. The better ones are pretty good for families, as usually there are playgrounds, greenery, sports parks, swimming pools, etc. The streets are also quieter. For a single person or couple, I don't really s...
