Re: Total street food ban for Bangkok

I may be dead wrong but I think it's a war on Issan. My guess would be that a majority of street food and merchandise vendors on the street are, if not from Issan, from the countryside and the junta and elite would like to see fewer OF them. Permanently. In addition they probably pay no taxes, while...

Re: A year in Kampuchea...

"have lived in Thailand for..." geez guy, what's the prob? even IF you get refused boarding, you do what? a taxi ride home within the hour? It's NOT going to be a problem. It's a local thang. Now one asks you diddly coming in on a bus. Perhaps you should hit Ekamai and bus it. See some country. Enjo...

Re: Rooftop insulation

BKL, yeah that's the average here in older homes. the fibreglass looses insulative capacity if damp at all so it'll breathe into the airspace above and that is vented. Proper sized fan probably would help a good bit. Painting those orange tiles white is a bit radical but dang sure WILL work. Probabl...

Re: No more smoking in public

Shocking. Lovely. I will not endure 30 hours of planes and airports to end up in a place with as many stupid regulations as the place I just left. This is the Cambodia I love :)

Re: L 'Bokator - Angkorian martial art. Worth preserving ?

looks like a tourist dance. I see no style in this. Pitiful really. But it's one 2 minute clip. One could just as easily observe two 5 yr olds in their first scuffle and affix a name to it and call it a martial art.
