Re: Anybody stay at the New Castle1 Guesthouse in Phnom Penh.

No elevator in 1, I think there is one in 2. Safe deposit boxes are downstairs/reception area, not in the room. Can use their locks or bring your own. Make sure to get a room in the back, the front ones are noisy from the Heart and street noise at all hours of the day. The ones on the top floor even...

Re: When I die I...

There's only one way to do it properly....

"When I die, put me somewhere quiet and away....
Plant 2 cannabis plants
So they can give me shade...
And my friends can come by
They can toke up and get stoned."

Re: Have you visited all the 50 or 57 states according to Ob

No, and I don't think if you did it would be all that fun. Sure, some spots are worthwhile, but getting there isn't by road. Too much 'nothing' for most of the way. And it's FAR! Having lived in the east coast, anything west of Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia, or New york state and everything east o...

Re: Sihanoukville Vs Siem Reap?

No, no by all means, Gaudente, you're 100% right. SHV is a dump, no one should go there. Save yourself. Too many 'crazy people' there already. :fool: Enjoy the beaches in Thailand or VN, nothing to see on the Cambodian coast, move right along to PP/SR/Poipet. If temples aren't your thing, mind as we...

Re: Giant Ibis SV - PP 6 Hrs 20 Mins - Ouch

Mekong express has nice minivans, a bit more expensive at 12/ticket. Seat 1A (next to driver) and 2a/2b are the nicest.

Re: What's with the percents?

It's a pretty common convention when selling used goods, especially on ebay, though they might use a 1 (crap)-10 (mint) scale instead of %ages.

Re: Expat or Immigrant?

There needs to be a third option: Emigre/Emigrant. An expat is someone who may (or not) return home one day/often. Whether it's for family/business/personal reasons, they need to be back home for extended periods of time, but gladly settle down abroad for other times. An immigrant settles down in th...
