Re: Cambodian ZERO
Hi! I'm glad you found the article interesting. Why "a bid strange", though? And you write that we hear sadly little about the true discoverer. OK, so what you have here is a newspaper article, and for some reason the journalist was more interested in my own story... Not my fault, is it? BUT: You will be happy to know that the actual book on which this story is based, to be published in January 2015, has THREE WHOLE CHAPTERS about Dr. George Coedes--the French discoverer of (or rather, analyzer of) K-127, the artifact bearing the first known zero. Something to look forward to, and don't be so "sad"--OK?
Yours,
Amir D. Aczel

Re: Cambodian ZERO
Perfect, thanks for the info and I am sure you will post it here once the book is out in order that we all get the news.
Apparently, the journalist did an over all poor job in putting his story together.
I m just confused about the"loss of the stone" and these Italian speaking ladies. Will you have more on that? The affair is incomprehensible to me as the stone must have been registered in the museum. How could people walk out with it? Dont they have their visitors sign in. Was in a restricted area, i suppose so. In other words, I hope that you have more on it in the book. This publicity might force the people to clean their act up.
Again thanks for the additional info and I m looking forward to learn more
