I'd get bored off with that pretty soon, it looks dumb.

we have a songkran day up victory hill to celebrate the first day of the Khmer New Year before we go back to the provinces for the traditional celebrations, then play with the water again on the last day, in my friends village its the monks that start off the water fight and you end up having a water fight with the monks to start with haha

A number of news sources are saying that Songkran 2017 will be a very sober affair. According to Channelnewsasia, Songkran will be a 'muted' affair this year out of respect for the late king. I guess that's the official version of events, but it doesn't look very muted from the videos on social media and elsewhere

And from Reuters:
Good luck with that.Thailand kicked off its annual water festival or Songkran holiday on Thursday amid warnings from the military government to rein in the festival's usual exuberance as the country mourns its late king.
The government has warned revelers not to wear skimpy clothing and to limit their alcohol intake, among other pronouncements.
