Re: Minor roof repairs
I did have a guy who built a couple of roofs and a gate for me. Unfortunately he shot himself in the head about six months ago after a family argument.

As far as I know it was something to do with his mother constantly nagging him for being no good. He seemed to do ok, those fabricators get a lot of work.
Anyway if I can think of someone else I'll let JSP* know. It's difficult to get anyone in to do small jobs and roofs need to be done right.

Yes, I could do a pretty good job I think = IF I could get up there. It's as thin as shit and god knows how they attach it to - what I'm guessing are - thin steel struts. I know the ceiling is hardly supported on anything. I know the Khmer get up there, as I've seen a few on the roofs.

Did they go up on a square, rickety bamboo scaffold ladder, where the long beams had broken at some point, thus requiring a tiny patch? Whem they did my awning they welded the top of the ladder to the frame, so it didn't wobble about so much. That one wasn't bamboo or old, dry logs, left in a pile for years. Fuck that, here's 5 bucks go up there and slop this brown shit about.juansweetpotato wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2017 11:34 pmYes, I could do a pretty good job I think = IF I could get up there. it's generally bolted to the wall, through the world's worst weld to a metal plate, which it then hangs off, using your mains and tv wire as support.

They use silicone, not bitumen. I've got one or two numbers but they don't speak English.

Cheers Lexus. If you could give me the numbers, I'll get my landlord to ring them. He's from Siem Reap so doesn't know anyone, my real landlady is in Australia taking a degree.Bitte_Kein_Lexus wrote: ↑Tue Mar 07, 2017 1:16 am They use silicone, not bitumen.
