JC International Airlines, a Chinese-backed carrier, is preparing to launch operations in Cambodia to serve both the domestic and international markets.

The Cambodian-registered airline, managed by China’s Yunnan Jingcheng Group, expects to launch flight services in February 2017 with about 160 to 180 staff, according to Yan Yi Xi, a company representative.

He said JC International Airlines plans to operate a fleet of six aircraft, serving domestic routes as well as cities in Malaysia, Singapore and China. “We’ve applied for almost all the licences necessary, save for a few checks that still need to be conducted,” he said yesterday.

Sinn Serey Vutha, spokesman of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), confirmed that the airline had submitted an application for an air operator’s certificate (AOC)...

A lot of these new airline flights and connections are coming from China. But if that's where the customers are coming from, what's the problem ?
If what they say here is correct, there will be more competition on flights between PP and other SEA hubs like KL, SG and BK. More choice is good for us all. :thumb:

The yarn crops up from time to time that the airport at Kampong Chhnang could be / might be / will be
the new airport for PP - and then, like a Mekong dolphin briefly glimpsed, the yarn disappears once

More Chinese package tourists to gamble at Naga World and the Sihanouville Casinos. Look at all the buildings and business's in Sihanoukville with Chinese script signs. And the Chinese takeover/Rape of Ream Park.

I wonder if they will be flying the Chinese Xiam MA60 turboprop airplane that is banned from flying in most civilized countries in the world? BTW/ The MA60 is a ripoff design of the Russian AN-24 which first flew in 1959. I believe there is one setting in top of the Russian (car show) building on the hill above Snookyville (good place for it. It used to be in the Airport bar Victory beach.) It was a AN-24 that crashed in Sihanoukville in 2007.

JC airlines is almost ready to fly
Wed, 22 February 2017
Cheng Sokhorng

With its operating licence almost in the bag, JC International Airlines is gearing up to launch passenger service next month with two aircraft and an ambitious expansion plan.

The Cambodian-registered airline, managed by China’s Yunnan Jingcheng Group, the parent firm of China’s Ruili Airlines, expects to launch its first flight on March 17.

Initial service will cover domestic routes, flying between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, and Siem Reap and Sihanoukville, according to Cheav Kirirom, the airline’s production manager.

“This is a new brand of airline offering a full range of products and services to passengers, and providing excellent service and comfort, [as well as . . .] reasonable fares and good connections,” he said yesterday.

JC International Airlines has already received two Airbus A320s from Ireland-based air leasing company Avolon. The aircraft, one new and one briefly thrown into service by Air Berlin, will be configured as all-economy class with 180 seats.

According to Kirirom, two additional A320 aircrafts are on order and expected to arrive in June and November, respectively.

“As to plan, we are scheduled to add four aircrafts every year to operate on more prospective routes,” he said.

The additional planes will allow the airline to add international service starting with flights to Ho Chi Minh City, then adding routes to China and ASEAN countries...

Nagaworld is already building Naga 2 across the street with an underground tunnel connecting them together. Creating a mini version of mainland China, one loud mouthed chain smoker at a time.

Thought this needed "sharing". Fun stuff.
However, I would check out their website before buying a ticket if I was you. https://www.jcairlines.com/?page_id=34

The seating looks pretty basic. At least there's in-flight service though.
