Countries Tolerant of Illegal Aliens

Post by Luigi »

The topic says it mostly.

In what countries in this world can you live & work as a free person, enjoy entertainment, obtain a DL, date, marry, propagate & live the ____________ dream?

Albeit for minimal or below minimal wage established by said country. And maybe profiled from time to time.

What country would be desperate enough to admit that illegal aliens were accepted? You hand your passport to immigration or the cops and they say, " Oh you've no visa, welcome."
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

I can't think of any either. There are a whole lot of them all over the world of course, but they must have a very difficult life avoiding officials. I'd guess that western affluent countries like the US/ Canada and many western European states would be the best bet, mainly because they are likely to already have networks of people from your country willing to employ/ conceal you etc. Most other countries and developing countries in particular keep a tight watch on foreigners and will have no qualms about arresting any illegal and imprisoning/ extorting/ deporting them.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

No country with a welfare state can also have an open door - at one time, it was easy to just walk into the UK, USA and a lot
of other countries but back in those days there was NO provision for poor immigrants other than private charity.

Canada seems to be trying real hard! Taxes and budget deficits are simultaneously skyrocketing. They have the must naive goverments in the world, abused by the poorest illegals to the richest semi-illegal (Millionaire Chinese with no questions asked funds buying mansions claiming residency for the tax free capital gains of primary residence, while declaring no (worldwide) income (while making $$$ in China) and so obtaining free services for the whole family. Some even access food banks while living in 3mil$+ homes!

You couldn't work, but you could just live - Peru.

The maximum visa period granted to tourists before July 2008 was 90 days, but new laws now allow for up to 183 days in the country on a tourist visa. Tourists should ask for the full 183 day visa at the customs desk to avoid being given shorter permits of only 90 or 30 days. A loophole exists for those who need to extend their tourist visas in Peru. This loophole simply involves crossing any land border into a neighbouring country and then returning to Peru shortly thereafter. For example, a traveler may cross into neighbouring Bolivia via the road along Lake Titicaca and then receive a fresh 183-day tourist visa upon re-entry to Peru.

Only 2 visa runs a year, no drama. Most of the time you need to go somewhere else twice a year anyway.

Drug laws are much better -

According to Article 299 of the Peruvian penal code, possession of drugs is not punishable if possessed for personal and immediate consumption in quantities not exceeding:

two grams of cocaine hydrochloride
five grams of cocaine basic paste (pasta básica de cocaína)
eight grams of marijuana or two grams of derivatives
one gram of opium latex or 200 milligrams of derivatives
two hundred and fifty milligrams of ecstasy, containing methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methamphetamine or similar substances.

That made for some interesting reading & cause for deeper research. I considered Peru, Ecuador & a couple other S. A. countries three years ago but decided SEA was a good choice having never been.. Personally I much prefer the clime, food & (please don't tell my GF) the women of Latin America.
Much ezier travel to my homeland as well.
