What can't you get hold of in Cambodia that you wish you could???

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Get your butt over to QueenCo gym for the latter two, they got kick boxing gear also but not sure if you'll find proper mates to spar though.

unlike Thailand, they just dont seem to make decent affordable semi furnished houses to rent to Barangs.
I know there out there but i think its a matter of a LOT of luck or living in a shit place till a good one comes along.

Other than that... u can pretty much get everything if ur willing to pay the price
Very true, Thailand, Vietnam and even Malaysia shit all over KH in this category. The premium for long term western accommodation is ridiculous all over the country. The bargains are few and far between. In SHV the only decent priced aprts. with a pool that I know of would be the brown building up the road before the Viet Embassy, 250/350$ for 1/2 bed, and the living rooms are small. Others are 500$+.
My mate rents a new bungalow just across from the road from a beach in Rayong for 4000bht. Then I see old 4x6m rooms on the SHV Expats page for 150$ and just shake my head.
Best comprise IMO is to rent a spacious older style khmer apart/house for 150-250$ and just get a QueenCo gym pass that gives you access to their pool for about 450$/yr. Easier on the wallet too when you're out of town for week long trips and travelling back home for a few months every year, then it would be leasing a 500-800+$ place.

Just lower your standards, and don't commit suicide, lolz! What are we at now? 12 deaths and over half are suicides in Shv this year.

Mainland Vintage cheese. And six-packs of frozen pies for $5.

queenco pool is an Infiniti pool - meaning the water needs to be high enough to lap over the edges where it then get filtered - but it is always a couple inches below that
it was murky last time I saw it

the gym is OK but it does not have a boxing ring or bag

^don't think it's an infiniti. Still way better amenities than anything else around. 50$ per month, cheaper longterm, for the gym, sauna, jacuzzi, pool, free towels, nice deck to chill out, kids room, etc. Craps all over anything else in SHV unless boxing is your main concern. You'll have to contend with the Bongthoms and cute chicks, local and korean/jap though.

i was meaning boxing clubs/boxing gyms/boxing equipment

everywhere is either shit or overpriced, usually both

Paddys gym in PP was half decent for $6 a pop including guys to take you on the pads and guys to spar with

was gutted when that closed tbh
