Dirco not informed about SA man wanted for Thailand murder
Pretoria - He is from Wellington in the Western Cape, attended school in Orkney, North West, and is fluent in English, Afrikaans and Portuguese.
In addition, Abel Bonito Caldeira, 23, is now an international fugitive after a British web designer was shot dead in his luxury car in Thailand.
Tony Kenway, 39, was shot dead on Tuesday in Pattaja, just after getting into his Porsche.
On Thursday morning, a court issued two arrest warrants: One for a South African, identified by Thai media as Caldeira, and another for a British citizen, Miles Dickens Turner.
The charges are conspiracy to commit murder, possession of illegal firearms and illegally carrying weapons in public, Chon Buri police chief Major General Somprasong Jentoeam told the Bangkok Post.
Although Thai authorities have confirmed issuing the arrest warrants to local media, Clayson Monyela, spokesperson for the Department of International Relations and Co-operation (Dirco), told Netwerk24 the department hadn't been informed about the warrant yet...

Re: Suspected killers of a British web designer in Pattaya, Tony Kenway, escape to Cambodia
Following the identification of two prime suspects for the murder of Tony Kenway last week, Thai authorities seem to have totally dropped the ball in the pursuit of the fugitives, who are believed to be in Cambodia. The suspects were rapidly identified thanks to the motorbike that they rented using their real ID for the hit on Kenway, as well as CCTV footage of the shooting. The Thai police very quickly located the means of escape and the border crossing where the men left the country. The Thai police were extremely efficient in finding and following traces of the two fugitives up until the moment they crossed the border into Cambodia.
However, there are still no Interpol wanted notices on the two suspected killers, and according to the Cambodian police, Thai police have not yet officially requested help in tracking down the suspects. The Cambodians know the names and passport numbers of the two men, but they need a formal request from the Thais in order to put out an alert.

https://www.cambodiadaily.com/news/offi ... se-124234/Kim Ratana, deputy director at the Cham Yeam International Checkpoint in Koh Kong province who previously said Thai police had contacted Cambodian police to work on locating the two suspects, said he had no update.
Uk Heisela, chief of investigations at the Interior Ministry’s immigration department, said he wasn’t even aware of the case.
Apichat Suriboonya, head of the Interpol office in Thailand, referred questions to Royal Thai Police deputy commissioner-general Chalermkiat Srivorakan, the head of a committee set up to investigate the case, who could not be reached.
Major General Apichat told Thai newspaper The Nation last week that if the pair fled to a third country, Thai police would ask Interpol to help track them down. However, the suspects had not been added to Interpol’s online database of wanted persons as of on Sunday evening.

Thai Murder Suspect Has Ties to Cambodia
A suspect wanted by police in connection to the murder of a British man last week in Thailand worked at a bar in Phnom Penh and had family ties in Cambodia, according to former colleagues and social media profiles.
Mr. Bonito had at one time worked at the bar in Phnom Penh. His former colleagues Tuesday’said they were shocked to hear of his reported involvement in the daytime shooting.
“He was a simple man. He respected the staff. He respected the boss. He never had any problems or caused any problems with anyone,” a former co-worker of Mr. Bonito said on Monday.
“He said he used to have problems outside Cambodia, and that he had been in jail, but was going to change himself,” added the co-worker, whose employer asked to have names withheld due to safety concerns. Mr. Bonito did not say where or why he had been incarcerated, the co-worker said.
After a few months on the job, Mr. Bonito announced that he was leaving to work for a business that imports duty-free products in Sihanoukville.
“He was very friendly with the customers,” his former employer said. “We didn’t want him to stop.”
“When I see the news from Thailand, I don’t believe it.”

Thai murder suspect to be deported
Cambodian authorities are expected to hand over the mastermind behind the murder of a British national in Thailand to Thai authorities on Saturday.
According to the Bangkok Post, Cambodian police arrested British national Toby James Nelham, 44, and are expected to hand him over to Thai police on Saturday after cooperating with Thai authorities on the case.
According to Thai police sources quoted by the Bangkok Post, Mr. Nelham was the alleged mastermind behind the killing of British national Tony Kenway, 39, who was shot dead in broad daylight while sitting in the driver's seat of his red Porsche Cayenne GTS outside a sports club in the Thai seaside resort of Pattaya.
Mr. Nelham was a business partner of Mr. Kenway's and it is believed that conflicts over business led to the murder, Thai police said.
Thai police had sought help from their Cambodian counterparts to hunt down several foreigners suspected of being involved in the murder of Mr. Kenway after they reportedly fled to Cambodia.
Two other men wanted under warrants issued by the Pattaya court are Abel Caldeira Bonito, 23, a South African who is the suspected gunman, and accomplice Miles Dicken Turner, 27, a Briton who allegedly rode the motorcycle that took the killer away from the murder scene. The two fled to Cambodia the same day as the murder.
