yes actually this is the worst that can happen to any country, foreign investment that doesnt really help the local economy but instead driving up property prices and commodities, putting home ownership out of many ordinary citizens reach, this is what decades of greed and unabated growth has done to the world.

^Well said, and Cambodia is playing catch up mighty real quick!
The khmers developers, agents, promoters, etc. are no slouches either though, real estate is full of greed and opportunism worldwide.

Ice cream vendors should do ok, it seems every chinese worker I see strolling around end of afternoons is licking on one.
Especially in Victory Hill, it's quite a phenomenon there. Is there a Chinese owned ice cream truck yet or some type of specialty seller targeting them?

Not that I am aware of. Many of them raid the corner mini mart in group. A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of using a strong and firm voice to tell one of them to go smoke his cigarette outside.

Whenever I eat at Maurice's there has been at least one Chinese couple awkwardly ordering too many dishes. The Chinese do eat out, certainly the middle class ones, anyhow.
