Speaking on condition of anonymity, neighbours in three nearby apartments said they heard two men and a woman arguing between midnight and 4.30am on Saturday.
However, it is also reported that Binotti's girlfriend and Ferguson's wife discovered the body together.
The police account is based on interviews with the two women, who told authorities that they discovered the body together on Sunday morning after several phone calls to the victim went unanswered.
In that case, who was the woman heard arguing in the apartment ? Neighbours say they were all speaking English...

Update:
Ferguson left behind a Thai wife and their young child. His wife and Binotti's girlfriend have been questioned by Burmese police.
Interpol has taken over the search for Binotti, who is believed to be in Thailand.

It's been noted that Harris Binotti has logged on to his FB page while on the run (presumably somewhere in Thailand), and has changed his profile photo to something more respectable. The photo of him as a pirate was definitely a bad choice, but the fact remains that Binotti is on the run from a murder investigation, no matter how pretty the photo.

Hand yourself in, Harris, your mate is dead; it's the least you can do now.

Binotti's family are also calling for him to turn himself over to the authorities.
Binotti has been named as the prime suspect by police, who are awaiting the results of Mr Ferguson's post-mortem.

The suspect's relatives in France have urged him to hand himself in, adding that the family was distraught.
Speaking from Avignon, Sylvie Binotti said: "We don't know where he is, we just want him to hand himself in."

Friend claims international manhunt Scot was volatile when he took drugs.

A Scots teacher suspected of killing a colleague in Myanmar would often turn nasty after going on drug-fuelled binges, a former friend has revealed.
Harris Binotti - wanted over the death of Gary Ferguson - regularly took illegal substances which caused him to "lose his mind" and get involved in confrontations with friends, according to a friend who knew the suspect when he studied in Aberdeen.
The source, who asked not to be named, told the Daily Express: "I honestly thought his habits would kill him - not cause him to kill someone else.." ...

[The attack:]It is understood he [Gary Ferguson] had been beaten to death, suffering serious head and chest injuries. Police do not believe a weapon was used in the attack.

Myanmar Int'l School Murder Suspect flees to Thailand, headed to Cambodia?

Post by sigmoid »

Apparently, they still haven't captured this guy although the murder took place early Saturday, Nov 5. It seems most likely that he would try to get a new identity in Bangkok and/or slip across the border to Cambodia.

This is from last Saturday, Nov 12:

Burmese Police Say Interpol to Take Over Search for Suspected Murderer Briton Harris Binotti
http://www.chiangraitimes.com/burmese-p ... notti.html
“The defendant of the case left from Yangon International Airport by Thai Airways on the evening on 5 November,” it said in a statement.

Police in Thailand were unwilling to comment on the possibility that he may have entered the kingdom or used it as a transit point, reported AFP.

This is from yesterday, Nov 16:

is family has launched a Facebook appeal in an effort to trace Binotti, who has not been seen since the day before the body was discovered.

It is understood that Binotti took a flight to neighbouring Thailand through Thai Airways, but could potentially have now travelled to nearby Cambodia.

Two weeks later and this guy still hasn't been caught. Perhaps he used his hefty savings from teaching to bribe someone, or maybe he's just a right clever chap.

If he picked up a fake passport in Bangkok, he could be anywhere in the world by now. Or, he could have slipped across the border to Laos or Cambodia and disappeared into the jungle. Not sure which country would be a better place to hide. Or, maybe he returned to Myanmar since that's the last place Interpol would look?
