Israeli murders in Thailand.

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Israeli murders in Thailand.

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

TWO Israeli suspects have been arrested following the discovery of a dismembered body believed to be of a missing Israeli man.

The body was found inside a bag and covered with concrete at a house in Nonthaburi’s Bang Bua Thong district.

Yesterday morning, police inspected the house and found the body. Police suspect that the deceased is Eliyahu Cohen, 63, an Israeli who disappeared on Wednesday.

Pol Colonel Ekachai Boonvisut, deputy superintendent of Metropolitan Police Division 7, stated that police were unable to confirm the identity of the deceased because forensic police and officers from the Israeli Embassy in Bangkok would have to identify the body.

Cohen’s family member told officers at Bavorn Mongkol Police Station in Bangkok that Cohen, a former Israeli policeman, disappeared from his apartment in Bang Yi Khan district on Wednesday while on a trip to the Kingdom.

The police inspected CCTV footage from the apartment and found that Cohen left the apartment alone on Wednesday and drove away in his car.

Police also found that after his disappearance the two Israeli suspects withdrew money from Cohen’s account.

Officers believe that the two suspects, who are in custody, may be linked to the crime as they used to meet Cohen and borrow money from him.

They also have information that there may have been a dispute over a Thai woman...

Israeli murders in Thailand.

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

The two suspects have been named as Shimon Bintan, 50, and his son, Ben,17. The plot thickens as the chief suspect has also been accused of killing his wife, who has disappeared.

BANGKOK: -- A Thai father has gone to police to claim that the Israeli man who has admitted murdering a compatriot has killed his daughter too.

Nantiya Saeng-urai, 37, has been missing for a year. She is the wife of Shimon Bintan, 50, who has admitted to the murder of Eliyahu Cohen, 50, on Wednesday.

She is also the mother of a son, Ben Bintan, 17, who the couple had together.

And in a further twist police say Shimon has given a reason for killing his friend. They say he has admitted that he did it out of jealousy because Eliyahu had sex with his wife.

Also neighbors reported seeing a mysterious "pregnant" woman visiting the premises where the body was found but she had stopped coming recently.
The wife's father Anan Saeng-urai went to Bang Bua Thong police with her picture yesterday to claim she has been murdered by the suspect.

Police to arrest Israeli suspect's son
17-year-old accused of aiding in murder

Police are seeking an arrest warrant from the Central Juvenile and Family Court for the son of an alleged Israeli killer for colluding in the murder his father has been charged with, helping to hide the body and stealing credit cards and documents that belonged to their alleged victim...

Mr Biton, who was in the house during the raid, allegedly told police he killed Cohen on Wednesday out of jealousy after discovering his girlfriend had been involved in an intimate relationship with the victim.

However, police are not convinced jealousy was the cause of the murder.

Jirapop Phuridej, superintendent of CSD's Division 1, said Mr Biton admitted killing Cohen after several hours of interrogation.

The suspect initially denied the accusation.

Cohen, Mr Biton and his son had met at a restaurant on Khao San Road.

According to investigators, Mr Biton frequently borrowed money from Cohen.

Officers also found money was withdrawn from the victim's account and spent in Nonthaburi...

Weirder and weirder. It seems that Bintan has previous - he did 10 years jail in Thailand for abduction and murder, got deported and came back. He may have changed his name. Its not clear how and why Bintan took his son with him when he was deported, but not his wife, who apparently waited for him to come back to Thailand.
Also not clear how long Bintan had known the victim. Or who is the woman who cheated on him ? His wife disappeared about a year ago.
To be continued...
Anan said that he had asked Ben, the son, about his mother and the youth had said strangely that he had never met her, that he didn't know her.

This was despite the fact that he had been brought up by his mother for ten years while Shimon was in prison for another abduction and murder committed in Kanchanaburi.

When Shimon had come out of prison after serving ten years he was deported to Israel but later managed to come back to Thailand and take his son with him.

According to Anan, Shimon returned to Thailand in 2015 and his daughter returned to live with him in Bang Bua Thong. She then disappeared. Now the arrest had happened he went to police about his concerns for his daughter.

Re: Israeli murders in Thailand.

The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) has launched an investigation into the missing Thai wife of an Israeli man who allegedly murdered his compatriot and hid the dismembered body parts inside a wall in the couple's Nonthaburi home.

Nantiya Saengurai, 37, the wife of Israeli suspect Shimon Biton, who allegedly murdered Eliyahu Cohen, a 63-year-old Israeli former police officer, has been missing for over a year, said her father...

The plot got considerably thicker on Monday.

Biton is an ex-convict who was jailed for 10 years in 2000 for disposing of a body in a murder case. He was initially charged with the murder of another Israeli, but the prosecutor reduced the charges.

According to the Jerusalem Post Biton is also "known to be involved in drug trafficking".

The agency also worked with the Israeli embassy to examine Biton's passport after police suspected his name may have been changed several times.

Pol Col Jirapop also ordered authorities to re-investigate [the] case in 2000 in which Biton was convicted in a murder case of another Israeli. He was not charged with the murder, but was convicted with dumping the dead body into the Mae Klong River.

Update: Image

The murky case of the Israeli murderer Shimon Bintan has taken yet another twist.

Another wife of Shimon has come forward. Shimon has already reportedly admitted to killing a compatriot, cutting him up and concealing him in cement under the stairs, reported Manager Online.

Police hope the latest woman – named only as Mrs “B” – can shed light on the disappearance of Nitaya Saeng-urai who has not been heard from since about November last year.

Arun Wacharasrisukanya leading the investigation team said that in his opinion it is “very likely” that Nitaya is dead.

Evidence of her money transactions and phone records show that they all ceased abruptly last year...
