Tom Stewart, US guy in Phnom Penh, needs help.

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Tom Stewart, US guy in Phnom Penh, needs help.

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Just saw this on FaceBook. Another foreigner not quite right who has a bad foot infection. It seems he would like someone to help him, but he doesn't know who to ask.
He said he had been trying to contact family. If anyone knows him, you can contact the guy who posted this.

"Doesn't want to go to the US consulate"

Why? Does he have outstanding warrants?

He looks kind of normal from some angles. Does he sneak up and start chatting and then suddenly show you his rotting foot? Is that his gig? Tell him to fuck off, he's probably a junkie.

Who knows ? He's obviously not quite right in the head. After the OP on FB, AK adds this :
Alexander Krot: He is not refusing, I would say he is ashamed of his state. He asked me if the us consulate could help him?
I thought that I heard the US is one of the better countries about repatriating their citizens in distress - for a healthy sum of course ? (Not sure this is true.)
Or if he has an outstanding warrant, why not tell them ? Otherwise, what to do ? Get busted at GSM ?

The US embassy will assist you in first trying to contact family members/friends, to get you home, If none will help, they will send you home and stamp ur passport invalid for travel till you play them back ( at east thats the way it was before.
