Exactly the same as me. I was drinking Anchor until Cambodia beer came along. Now it's just about the only lager I drink when in Cambodia..

I always get unbelievably horrible hangovers after drinking Angkor beer. Hope the strike lasts long enough to convince the restaurants/bars I frequent to switch out their Angkor draft for just about anything else..
I don't mind Angkor but it always tastes weak to me, although it's supposed to be 5%, it seems more like 3%. I generally drink Tiger draft but have also drunk Angkor for many years here with no noticeable ill effects. Admittedly I never drink more than about 10 or 12 at one go, but if you drink a lot in a short time I suppose it's likely you'd get a hangover.

It's not the taste that's the worst thing for me, it's that I always get a horrible horrible headache after drinking Angkor. I don't know what causes it but it never fails.

If I'm on a real bender and start early, I can go through a case of Cambodia beer without suffering any mentionable ill effects the next day, but if I mix in just 3-5 Angkor beers on a normal day of drinking 7-10 Cambodia beers I always wake up in excruciating pain.. almost praying for death because my head feels like it's going to explode.

To be fair, I can also get the same effect from some of the Vietnamese beers.

There is a reason happy hour is nearly always cheap ankgor beer, it is utter dross and they can't sell it any other way. If i go in a place and it's only angkor draught i make a quick u turn and depart. Boycott angkor beer, don't buy any. angkor and good riddance.

Production delays at brewery prompt suit

Food worker unionist Sar Mora appeared before the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Court on Friday after his federation was slapped with a $60,000 lawsuit by Carlsberg’s partner company Cambrew in relation to a strike last August in Sihanoukville that disrupted its production.

About 100 workers from the warehouse and packaging and distribution lines went on a five-day strike last year after warehouse manager Lim Roath was fired, with workers demanding his reinstatement and instead asking for the firing of the factory’s Malaysian-Chinese manager for unfair treatment.

Mora, who is the president of the Cambodia Food and Service Worker Federation (CFSWF), said the plaintiff’s lawyers did not specify the exact charges being used to sue the union, with the case set to go to trial on March 23. “They just want to harass the union, undermine us and pressure the workers to be scared,” he said.
He added that some of his union members were part of the strike, but noted that CSFWF was only monitoring the strike and did not instigate it.

Cambrew is part-owned by Danish conglomerate Carlsberg and produces Angkor, Carlsberg, Bayon, Klang and Black Panther beers..

Cambodia: Brewery giant Carlsberg seeks to punish union for defending workers' rights

Global brewery giant Carlsberg is using the courts to bully and intimidate the IUF-affiliated Cambodian Food and Service Workers Federation (CFSWF), the union representing workers at its Cambodian joint venture Cambrew. The union has been seeking reinstatement of the beer promotion women who were dismissed last year for contesting the unilateral worsening of their terms of employment. Now Cambrew is demanding punitive financial 'compensation' from the union following a strike by warehouse workers which the CFSWF neither organized nor officially endorsed...

Carlsberg defends dismissals
27 April 2017
Danish beer giant Carlsberg has defended its partner in Cambodia, Cambrew, after a food workers union accused the brewer of firing 21 union members, claiming they were bought off in an attempt to stymie the union movement.

In an email yesterday, Carlsbergs Asia corporate affairs director Steve Deng confirm some beer promotion assistants contract had been terminated but did not addressed the bribery accusations.

He said the terminations were purely business.

“Cambrew has always been in full compliance with Cambodian labour laws and regulations, and in this instance full compensation was paid in accordance to the Cambodian Labour Law,” he said...

That's really strange! It's the opposite for me, I like the Cambodia beer but it never fails to give me a morning hangover while Angkor never affected me. It does more often than not give me the squits all next day though!

Cambrew’s $60K case against union begins
26 June 2017
Food worker union leader Sar Mora appeared before Preah Sihanouk Provincial Court on Friday on behalf of his federation in relation to a $60,000 lawsuit filed by beverage giant Carlsberg’s partner Cambrew following a strike last August in Sihanoukville that disrupted its production.

The Cambodian Food and Service Workers Federation, which is headed by Mora, is being sued after 100 workers went on a five-day strike to protest the termination of the warehouse manager, Lim Roath, and to call for the firing of the factory’s Malaysian-Chinese manager for unfair treatment. A verdict is expected on July 21.

Cambrew is part-owned by Danish conglomerate Carlsberg and produces Angkor, Carlsberg, Bayon, Klang and Black Panther beers.

According to Mora, the company filed a civil case against the federation, citing “harassment”, rather than a case based on the Labour Law.
“I think the real cause is that Cambrew doesn’t want our independent union in their company, and from time to time they make threats to our members, activists and union leaders,” he said...
