Cambodian soldiers off to help the Central African Republic.
A contingent of 216 Cambodian soldiers departed for a UN peacekeeping mission in Central African Republic (CAR) yesterday after a sending-off ceremony yesterday presided over by General Pol Saroeun, commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), and Marie-Odile Emond, a representative of the United Nations’ country team in Cambodia.
Unit 459, the third military engineering unit to be deployed to the CAR, is replacing Unit 549 and will be tasked with improving military infrastructure in the landlocked nation, Gen. Saroeun said.
“This is the third unit deployed to Central African Republic where they will work in construction, building new settlement bases. They will also be responsible for helping forces increase their mobility and will assist with any other engineering support in the eastern part of the country,” Gen. Saroeun said, adding that Unit 549 is set to return to Cambodia on Friday...

I wonder [ in the kingdom of wonder ] if these guys will be parachuting in.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

They could then use their parachutes as hammocks and sleep in them all day and night.Duncan wrote:I wonder [ in the kingdom of wonder ] if these guys will be parachuting in.

184 Cambodian soldiers leaving for Lebanon.
The newly deployed forces from Cambodia’s Multirole Engineering Contingent Unit 369 will replace Unit 936 peacekeepers who recently completed their mission and are returning to Cambodia on Friday, said General Pol Saroeun, commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
“This is the seventh unit deployed to the Republic of Lebanon, where they will work in the area of construction, building new settlement bases and barracks, and other constructive work aiming at providing safety to all the Blue Berets in the area,” Gen. Saroeun said in a statement.
The U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon will gain 184 Cambodian personnel, including 16 women, according to Alexandre Huynh, U.N. resident coordinator.
Cambodia currently has 43 female peacekeepers deployed in various countries, Mr. Huynh said. “They represent a positive shift toward improved equality in the Cambodian armed forces.”
