Any particular reason why (if I'm right thinking it will be worse for Australians)?timmydownawell wrote:I'd prefer the AUD to stay over 75c tbh and atm it's looking good for the first time in a month. It could go to78-80c but later if the US increases interest rates it won't last.

It was pretty good for a while a few years ago if I remember correctly, when I was exchanging for baht.cptrelentless wrote:The drop was always on the cards, the massive debt hanging round meant the £ was trading above it's weight for a while there. I expected some sort of rebound since the news about the economy since the whole Brexit vote has been positive for the UK. But no, still being shorted.
Then boom.

Re: Will the £ ever equal $?
I was reading some economist outlooks in the news, short term is ok but if interest rates go up in the US it's bad for the AUD. I don't know if Trump's influence will improve their economy enough for that. Deeply sceptical, in fact. But he could send the whole world into a tailspin. So where does that leave anyone?LionsLeftTesticle wrote:Any particular reason why (if I'm right thinking it will be worse for Australians)?timmydownawell wrote:I'd prefer the AUD to stay over 75c tbh and atm it's looking good for the first time in a month. anyone with any brains living in cambodia off their savings would have their savings already hereLionsLeftTesticle wrote:Obviously it's only an issue if you live on your savings or need to top up your pension.SinnSisamouth wrote:yes I am aware that if you are on a pension but savings are saved and you don't spend hence savingsJohn Bingham wrote:SinnSisamouth wrote:
whats the exchange rate got to with savings?
If your savings or pension or whatever is in £ Sterling, you're going to get a lot less for your pound now.
all getting a massive 0.25℅ in the uk!
pensions are the only issue
unless they like paying every time they use an atm

Interest would pay for withdrawals.
Don't know what would happen if Cambodia swallowed all your savings.
