Will the £ ever equal $?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Any particular reason why (if I'm right thinking it will be worse for Australians)?

It was pretty good for a while a few years ago if I remember correctly, when I was exchanging for baht.

Then boom.

I was reading some economist outlooks in the news, short term is ok but if interest rates go up in the US it's bad for the AUD. I don't know if Trump's influence will improve their economy enough for that. Deeply sceptical, in fact. But he could send the whole world into a tailspin. So where does that leave anyone?

whats the exchange rate got to with savings?

If your savings or pension or whatever is in £ Sterling, you're going to get a lot less for your pound now.
yes I am aware that if you are on a pension but savings are saved and you don't spend hence savings
all getting a massive 0.25℅ in the uk!

pensions are the only issue
Obviously it's only an issue if you live on your savings or need to top up your pension.
anyone with any brains living in cambodia off their savings would have their savings already here

unless they like paying every time they use an atm

Interest would pay for withdrawals.

Don't know what would happen if Cambodia swallowed all your savings.
