Sihanoukville Beach Front New Look + Dolphin Shack

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Always nice to have some "good news" photo reports. That is if S'ville is really trying to clean up the beaches for us plebs.

Thanks for photos Jamie. Love them.

Tell me, are the bars in the same place they have always been, and the chairs just moved up, to accomodate a path, thereby seperating off the beach?

Or have they been pushed back, and the area redesigned?

Do you prefer it now, or did you prefer it before?

And how many of our readers can look at that last pic and say "Wow, I remember when there was nothing along that stretch of beach"?

The path showing is the original path, & the bars have been pushed back a good distance from the original path to create space where the chairs & tables now go, leaving much more beach area for people to use

Looks great I think

That's a hell of a tall building being built on the main road down to the pier, in the background of the pictures

They might want to hold a spirit level along the side of that building before it's too late. :chin:

Yes, wonder what building is that. Hotel, apartments?

Also anyone knows what is the big building complex being build in this photo far away on right (sorry about bad photo, but i dont have better one)?

Thanks Jay

Personally i prefer when the bars were closer to the beach. Dunno, it was more chilled before, like some hippy paradise. Maybe i'd think different if i was there, but it now seems more 'regulated' and 'normal', which of course is fair i suppose because every bar has the same space allocated to them, although perhaps a bit more 'boring'?

All that sand on the beach, with not a chair in sight...ummmm....dunno about that... :nono:
