Looking for My Sister Shardeen Parkes (Who Works at Gado Wine Shop)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. I did find it funny that his supposed Italian wife had a Slavic sounding accent and a rather large scar from mouth to ear. One other detail that doesn't add up is the Jamaican girl who worked there. Jeffrey was having a tough time getting her a transit visa through the USA, so that she could travel from Jamaica to Cambodia. If she was Nigerian, why would she have needed a transit visa to fly from Kingston through the U.S.? According to both of them, she was his cousin. Anyone know or suspect anything?
Does your sister have a scar on her face, Kardeen?

Hi Kardeen,
Is this Shardeen here ? Doesn't prove anything but it would place her at Gado in October 2014, according to this photo from their Trip Advisor page.
I posted their phone number on the other thread - call them at +855 975477010 if you think your sister is still working there, and see what they say.

There was no mention at all of your sister when the place got raided and Moldavian woman was arrested. It doesn't seem like your sister was mixed up in that. That was in June 2015, and then you heard from her after that and she was ok. The restaurant is still open AFAIK, so maybe she's still there but hasn't called home ? If she was ok last time, do you have any reason why you think that she is not ok now ?

Edit: The restaurant might be closed at the moment. It's late in Cambodia. Try tomorrow.
I don't want to dismiss your concern, but I would try to contact the restaurant before you call the anti-trafficking authorities. This is just my advice based on what you have have said here. ie. that you have no special reason to think that your sister is in danger, except that you haven't heard from her. Is that correct ?

I think I'm starting to understand why she hasn't called home in a while, if every conversion goes like this.
