Administration/Moderation Concerns?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I'm in favor of adding a "punch", "kick" or "stab" button. It's for posters you really want to punch, kick or stab. I'm prepared for the inevitable bloodbath! :geek:

Yay , I'm all for that. Lets call it a Donald Trump button.
After acquiring X many stabs, the receiving poster is then relegated to posting only in the empty black abyss of the "Business and Finance" forum section.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe an "acid attack" to keep the Cambodian theme.
"Life is too important to take seriously."

"Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh."

I can't recall ever having that. It was just a tab or what? And when do you last remember having that?

It probably had a different name but is was there from day 1. Vlad had a post about house hunting, OD posted a recipe, AK47 wrote about moto maintanence, Joon made sandwiches. It was used to highlight the best stuff posted here.

I remember we had a "star" feature where you could rate topics, but I really can't recall anything like that. Hmmmm

I'm preferring the stripped-down version of CEO now that doesn't have any karma nonsense. I'd like if there was a feature where registered users could up or down-vote posts, just to gauge how popular certain opinions are.

Yeah, I swear we'll look into all that, it's just been on the back burner. Been a busy few weeks for me too. Hell, just got our email system up and running again with the help of UT, so now everyone gets email notifications for PMs and subscribed topics, etc, again. Sorry to all for that going down, but it's working now. (I think it was only down for about a week, but an inconvenience nonetheless.)

One big holdup with the Karma has been a hefty price tag to bring it back with all the old data, but I'm kind of thinking we might just bring it back and have to lose the old data. And I don't see why we can't have that and a simple like/dislike button too. I mean, if it's there and some people prefer just a simple like button, then they can use either one they want and ignore the other.

Kind of like a smartphone. Might come with a bunch of apps you don't use, but as long as it's not slowing your phone down or anything, no harm in having them there in case you use it later.

Good to hear your thoughts on it, so thanks.

Having both the karma and the like/dislike feature seems a tad superfluous. Just the like/dislike would be the ticket, IMO. Seems a bit precious giving/collecting karma points; this ain't 'Backslappers Inc'.
