Your speaking khmer attempts
Re: Your speaking khmer attempts
Wow good for you. I always avoided using khmer dictionary. It is too much to read and the letter doesn't look nice and clear.prahkeitouj wrote:First I thought like that too. easpecially i don't really understand the explanation, but it depends on the context. when I use it often I feel confident with my writing.

Re: Your speaking khmer attempts
I've got some questions about when I'm speaking to another person about their possessions, like a moto for example, (without using the words nyea, or rowboh nyea) as in an informal day to day conversation. Mostly I will end up saying moto and then that person's name but it feels strange to say their name in that way when I'm already speaking to them.
Another thing that throws me off is trying to speak about my own posessions (aside from rowboh kenyohme). For example if I'm speaking to someone older than me, and I say "bong aing" I'm not really sure if that refers to me or him.
It would be good to clear this up, as it kind of disrupts my conversations sometimes.

i think it is not that strange to have say the person name. For example if you want to say something about my motorbike. Samouth, your motorbike is really strong: Motor pos/roboss (you are supposed to say roboss instead of pos, however because we are lazy and try to say it short. Just like you say the word vegetable and this is why it is hard for foreigner. I think most foreigner always confused between 3 and 8 when we say them) Samouth aing klang.Mr. Yan wrote:I've got some questions about when I'm speaking to another person about their possessions, like a moto for example, (without using the words nyea, or rowboh nyea) as in an informal day to day conversation.
