too much chinese everything in sihanoukville

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

Perhaps the biggest problem is finding a room let alone affordable one. The travellers are in Otres and Islands which are now the only places still worth visiting. So it's a case of moving on with the flow. In some ways it's interesting to see the way the Chinese have taken over the hill so quickly, but also driven up rents. Serendipity was ruined many years ago when they built that road and messed with the beach arrangements.

I assume that on a hill, there’s much better internet connections than on the islands. VOIP scams have to be monitored 24/7 with a reliable and fast connection...
I actually don't give a flying fuck, furthermore nice to meet you all here! :thumb:

And why was it paved?
Because of an increase in western visitors and expats, who set up bars after the landlords kicked out the Khmer families. Serendipity was named by an American expat.

Now it’s the Chineses turn to move Sihanoukville along.

It was the traffic, road traffic, that was the last straw for me for example from Orange then up past Canadia bank and up the steep back road that comes out at the brewery took 15 minutes yesterday most of that stationary on the road after Canadia bank. Eckarech is very busy virtually all day light hours now. I left.
