In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Re: The life of Cambodian on my camera
You think poor people here are happy just because they grin and bear it? How do you think they feel when they have to struggle to make ends meet? When they end up indebted to money-lenders? You seriously believe they don't know any better and are all the happier for it. That's BS.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

bkktrapper has this notion of a fairy-tale Cambodia, in a ll honesty.
If they smile, it is not because they are happy. They have a damn good idea of how far down the ladder they are and know how much that latest Range Rover that drives them is worth.

Re: The life of Cambodian on my camera
all bkktrapper said was that they can still smile and have a laugh, where as most people in the western world would be miserable cunts in the same situation, most are miserable cunts in general, even if the Khmer are just smiling to save face or whatever

Re: The life of Cambodian on my camera
It's undeniable that, generally, Cambodian people are doing better year upon year and that is reflected in the country around us. Disposable income is a reality to a large percentage of the population, infrastructure is light years ahead of where it was not five years ago, which in turn brings economic growth.Samouth wrote:
Since most of Cambodia TVs show only propaganda and left behind a lot of fact about Cambodia and especially the life of unfortunate Cambodians. I wonder if people do believe Cambodia TVs saying Cambodians are becoming wealthier and living in better condition and better life while you could see many people especially children begging for money along the roads, many homeless people in the capital city, many people work so hard but still can't earn enough money to live in an acceptable lifestyle, people committed suicide for being poor.
Of course there are still people living below the breadline who will struggle all their lives and die poor, or worse off than they were born into. It will take a few generations to change this. Real education and skills training are the seeds that can lead to this.

Sorry... you're where? ...doing what?General Mackevili wrote:It's a shame that Khmer isn't the international language of the world, otherwise they too would be jumping borders to teach Khmer and easily make 5X what locals there make.

This was just a try to see if I could master the Tinipic thing. Dead easy - even for the technically impaired - great stuff.

I read the How To... good work UT. Once I knew to click on the TiniPic it was fairly obvious anyway; very easy.
Will post more photos now I know how.
