A sturdy fake (?) monk eager to scam gullible foreigners
On the Riverside in PP today (Sat) at just about 09.30, a sturdy fake (?) monk extending a glad hand-to-be-shaken to obvious foreigner.
""Äre you a fake monk?'"" was uttered and the said fake(?) monk moved on sharpish.

This story should have been submitted to Reuters, it's groundbreaking news.boozyoldman wrote:On the Riverside in PP today (Sat) at just about 09.30, a sturdy fake (?) monk extending a glad hand-to-be-shaken to obvious foreigner.

Silence, exile, and cunning.

^ LOL!
Speaking of these scamming "monks", there seems to be a shitload more of them around town lately, saw 4 of them just between TTP and Psar Kandal yesterday, tuk tuk driver and I were discussing them...he wanted to crash into them. I then saw at least 3 of them hitting up tourists along the Riverside.

One of them tried it on me at the riverside yesterday. I politely said 'No' while gesturing with my hands, then I turned away to ignore him. He didn't stop.
Next he tried pushing his beads towards us, then I had to impolitely shout 'NOOO'.
He walked away straight to the next foreigner nearby, and then to another foreigner.

I took the beads off one and thanked him for his charity. Then ignored his pleas to return the beads. He appealed to the staff of the riverside venue but they ignored him. Eventually he fucked off.
