Khmer Funerals

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

A plain white shirt is best, even if you might get locals turning up wearing all sorts. And if it's your granny shave all your hair and eyebrows off.
fuck sake i just had my eyebrows styled in the salon last night!

I wouldn't be surprised if this was actually true.

Yeah, just white or plain shirt with sleeves and some dark trousers if you can. Everyone will be cool, but good to make the effort. What time do you start ? 5am is always fun.
No worries, everyone will help you to do what you have to.

Yes, white shirt and black trousers are formal. You should be careful with your face expression on 7 day funeral because it seems a sad of losing a member, but some funeral have dancing on 100 day funeral.

I don't own a white shirt just I have an excuse not to attend funerals. Plus, white never stays white here.
