Victory hill bar- hangout scene

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

Victory hill bar- hangout scene

Post by zmth »

Does anyone know of any decent not nearly empty bars or whatever but NOT hostess bars! in Victory beach/hill ? Prefer freelancers to be hanging out also but if that is not possible then at worst a friendly meeting place for Europeans, Aussies, US etc. english speaking people. And another question say if I dared go into a hostess bar do they hound one for ladies drinks ? In any event don't want to go into one where I am the only male - so for example I could if I wanted ignore them and talk to another Aussie, Euro or us male who hopefully is not buying ladies drinks !

Yeah, I can see how paying for a $2 lady drink could bankrupt a man... those greedy prostitutes putting on a show for you. Men don't go to those bars to talk to you; they go to talk to the talent. So unless you look great in a dress and a stuffed bra - you might be better off just going to an ordinary bar. You'd also be better off renting chicks from a bar than using freelancers but if HIV and robbery are your thing - there's bound to be some fine "lady" in Snookie prepared to accomodate you and your wallet pinching ways.

Lots of bars without hostesses up there, sure they mostly suck but they're there. You can scope the scene out in ten minutes so get out there and find those 10$ skanks!
Other than overpriced hostesses and hiv skanks there's nothing much else in Shv, so don't even bother looking, really just don't bother!

The man who is telling it like it is lol :thumb: (Sarcasm detector fully activated.)

OP: Jokes aside - on Vic Hill loads of people just hang out for a beer or 3 on restaurant street, or the bar down at Sakal used to be ok around sunset. Try the guesthouses with bar/restaurant for a chat with a western or english-speaking barman who could give you a few tips .

General tip: if you can't find someone to talk to in a SNV bar, you need to work on social skills. I mean this kindly.

Yes, Shooters bar (338 Ekareach). Quality bar, 2 or 3 pool tables with quality cues/ balls. Curry Steve's in-house menu. Nightly food specials. No hookers unless you bring them from outside. Nice bar.

Yep.
If Hotdigr gets a bar job there he will tell us, because suddenly it will become the greatest venue in Sihanoukville. Russian restaurants, catamaran cruises, idyllic backpacker beach shacks, how can they all be wrong. Maybe it's the dive where the English guy drank himself to death earlier last year and Hotdigr was drinking with him before his death. But nudge nudge wink wink he can't say any more. I believe he was convienently found outside the bar on the street. Classy.

No, an original CEO member with no particular personal affiliations, just forming my own opinion given what you've posted since you've been here.
