Sokha Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia Opens Upscale Nightclub: WAVE CLUB

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

GM, I am well impressed at the improvement in Khmer translation skills! You've only been back in Cambodia for what? A month? And you're at this high level! Impressive!

I wasn't even there at the time, but it looks like your average 90s Cambodian KTV decor. So "upscale"...

Sokha is onto something big, very big too. The hotel in PP been sitting there since 2008 and finally came to a completion and fruition, and the biggest hotel in Cambodia located in Siem Reap is firmly to be completed by 2016 less than 4 km from the ancient temples.

Is that the same building thats on the point of the island and looks like the columns holding the building up are too small for the building? With the shoddy construction in Cambodia, how long before one of these buildings falls down?

Sokha's got to spend the tens of millions he gets from Ankor Wat somewhere as he doesn't spend it on any infrastructure there.

They really need to run shuttle ferries over there, like the Hilton on the other side of the river in Bangkok, if they want to get any business.

Yes, right inside the protected Apsara zone....

Exactly what I was thinking as I was having lunch this Sunday. But certainly the Bong thoms are not getting out of their Range Rovers to get on a ferry.
